Ms. Sha Zhu (朱砂) began the China Business Service for ACG in 2011 and is the Director of China Business Development. She drives the firm’s China strategy through actively interacting with, and consulting for, Chinese business and public sector entities.
Leveraging an unique knowledge of cultures, business protocols and the key dynamics of bi-lateral business, Ms. Zhu plays instrumental role in bridging understanding and building trust. Drawing on extensive education and work experiences in both Beijing and Washington, D.C, she connects a network of professionals in both nations’ capitals across the spectrum of government agencies, international organizations, private enterprises, business media, and think tanks. Her other responsibilities include authoring bi-weekly macro-economic analysis on China that is tailored to ACG clients’ investment interests.
Ms. Zhu has worked at the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and served as English news editor at China Radio International. Since her arrival in the U.S., she has gained broad international experience working at the World Bank, the Albright Stonebridge Group, the Kissinger Institute on China and the U.S., and the United Nations Association. In addition, Ms. Zhu is frequently invited by the Chinese Embassy and think tanks to facilitate high-profile Chinese government delegation visits to U.S. government agencies, Congress, and international financial institutions.
Ms. Zhu holds two master’s degrees in international affairs from the George Washington University (2010) and Peking University (2008). Her extracurricular activities include serving as the leader of university choir, director at the Model United Nations Association, and head of a female basketball league. She has traveled, studied, and lived in the Asia Pacific, North America, and Europe.
