Defense

American Continental Group offers its clients extensive experience in the defense lobbying field.  We recognize that there are literally hundreds of innovative technologies that are not funded as part of the President’s budget each year.  However, if a project is given seed money through the Congressional appropriation process, these technologies are often put into the field quickly in places like Iraq and Afghanistan - improving our defense readiness and helping to save the lives of our men and women in uniform.

Our professionals have spent years working on defense issues, both in staff positions on Capitol Hill and in the lobbying world. American Continental Group Partner Michael Barbera was Chief of Staff to the former Vice Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee in which he worked on high-level defense policy issues and oversaw efforts to secure funds for local defense projects. American Continental Group Partner Joel Patton was a former Defense Department official who managed several high-profile defense systems and now helps clients establish long-lasting relationships with appropriate program managers and other Defense Department officials.  Working together with other members of the American Continental Group team, these two professionals give our clients the kind of high-level representation on the Hill and within the Pentagon bureaucracy that few other firms can offer. Given this wide-range of capabilities, American Continental Group has represented a wide variety of defense-related clients – from large Fortune 500 defense contractors to small research firms with unique technologies.  Each year, American Continental Group secures millions of dollars in funding for dozens of innovative defense projects – and we are pleased to play a small part in improving America’s national security
